A pioneering businesswoman and mother of ten children, Mary Rossi OBE took her first overseas trip in the late 1950s and by 1973 was offering two cultural tours to groups of Australians every year. By the 1980s, her company Mary Rossi Travel had its own offices and was known for its growing program of special interest tours, many of which were organised in conjunction with partners such as Musica Viva and the Art Gallery Society.

Thanks to its decades of operation, Mary Rossi Travel has developed significant relationships with international boutique hotels and luxury cruising companies, and was the inaugural member of the international Virtuoso network of luxury travel agents in Australasia. Over the last nine years, Mary Rossi Travel has been a finalist and five-time winner of the Luxury Travel Magazine Gold List for Best Luxury Travel Agent.
